Alexis has a lot of experience in running large scale events/comedy nights, from live music events for Young Jewish Care to Big Belly Laugh, a comedy fundraiser for Waltham Forest Samaritans at The Hackney Attic with the likes of TV’s Angela Barnes and James Acaster on the bill.
Alexis campaigns for an end to violence against women and children. She has run several fundraisers for Women’s Aid, as well as doing the Asics 10k to raise funds for them and is currently working on a project with AVA to help women access vital support when at risk of domestic abuse.
On Saturday 13th February 2021, Alexis organised a Streamathon on her Twitch channel to raise funds for Women’s Aid. It was a huge success- £1257 raised and 3k people watched the show!
The Time I Almost is best described as a fun and quirky comedy/storytelling event with a twist!
Alexis Strum is your hostess (with the mostess), as she and a smorgasbord of TV’s funniest comedians and storytellers come onstage to celebrate their best ‘Sliding Doors’ moments with you. In case you’ve never heard of her, Alexis is the girl who wrote the book on failure (literally) with her laugh-out-loud blog and memoir, ‘The Time I Almost…’, charting her abortive attempts to become a popstar, supermodel, movie star and international spy!

Inspired by her debut memoir, the very first ‘The Time I Almost…’ took place at The Book Club on Wednesday 24th October 2018. Since then, there have been several shows and she always donates a percentage of profits from ticket sales to the highly deserving Women’s Aid charity.
And Design My Night have actually named ‘The Time I Almost’ one of the ‘Best Comedy Nights in London’ which definitely warms the ole cockles!
